Legal Assistant

Commonwealth Bank is looking for a Legal Assistant to join the team. This is a newly created role, and you will have real scope to shape how it works from the first month.

About the role

This is a part time position based in Canberra, ACT. You will report to the team lead and work alongside a group of people who take pride in doing the basics well.

What you’ll be doing

• Work with your team lead to plan the week and flag risks early
• Report on progress and outcomes to the relevant manager
• Contribute to continuous improvement — we act on good ideas quickly
• Keep records accurate and up to date in our systems
• Follow all safety, quality and compliance requirements relevant to the role

What we’re looking for

• Relevant qualification or trade certification where the role requires it
• A current driver’s licence (preferred, not essential for all locations)
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• A positive, safety-first attitude
• Attention to detail and a genuine sense of ownership

What you’ll get

• A salary in the range of $106,000 – $146,000 per year
